Not much is known about the town Grimslade. Tolkien just mentioned that it is Grimbold’s hometown, not much more. As I am planing to build my Rohirim around the character Grimbold, it just seemed natural to come up with my own interpretation of this town.
We have seen Edoras in the movies and since you can’t really refer to it as a huge city by any means Grimslade had to appear even more rural and simple. That’s were the Stronghold Saga Terrain comes in. Their Dark Age Terrain blends in quite nice with the LotR miniatures and is highly recommended.

Today’s post is certainly not the finale regarding Grimslade. There’ll come more terrain for Rohan for sure.

Stronghold has lots of useful stuff like crates and barrels to offer. Perfectly suited to use as barricades for example.

There's even a dunghill to give the village that nice rural look.
