Public Service Announcement: The sky is NOT falling.

What up?


Firstly, the sky is not, I repeat, not falling. Go outside and check. I think you'll find that the sky is already touching the ground so there is no room for it to fall.

Regarding the New Eldar Codex, people are concerned that jetbikes being T4 W1 3+ (what else is T4 W1 3+ and field-able in groups of 10? Think now :P) with cover saves are going to be spammed in X amounts of 10, with all using scatter lasers.

Using maths in a vacuum, 10 x 4 shots = 40 shots right? Well, if you hadn't noticed, scatter lasers are HEAVY WEAPONS which means if the jetbike has moved in the previous movement phase, they have to make snap shots. Not gonna lie, but I don't think jetbikes with their 24" flat out are gonna be standing still. Especially given T4 W1 3+ is easy to kill as that's a fucking TACTICAL MARINE.

Let's do some more maths. Snap shots are resolved at BS1- which means 6's to hit. So, (1/6)*40= 6.67 shots from the scatter lasers at a target with no armour and no cover. Add in both these things and that number goes down. Yes, this is vacuum maths with To Hit, and that T4 is sorta done-for unless armour/cover/invuls intervene. You have to realise that SL are S6 AP6 H4 whereas the SC is S6 AP5 A3, bladestorm. Mmmm, rending.
 

You'll want your jink/cover saves as that bike is made of cardboard and hope. Secondly, while you can spam the fuck out of scatter laser bikes, there are much more durable platforms out there. Take the falcon, which is now 1-3 per slot as is the fire prism. Fuck yeah viability. Did I mention the pulse laser is better than the scatter laser by dint of having higher S, better Ap, the Lance rule and being mounted on a durable-as-fuck tank?

Not only that but there's wraithlords, guardian squads, wave serpents and vypers to mount scatter lasers. 

FUCK, spam the shuriken cannons if you have to. Sure it's S6 Ap5 but WHAT THE HELL IT'S AN ASSAULT HEAVY BOLTER AT 24" WHICH DOESN'T MATTER DUE TO BEING AN ASSAULT WEAPON AND JETBIKES BEING ABLE TO MOVE 24" A TURN. Also, the rending. 

So, what's better? 10x 24" S6 Ap5 Assault 3 pseudo-rending shots on a highly mobile platform or 10x 36" S6 AP6 Heavy 4 on that same platform? 

Seriously, the knee jerk reaction Every. Fucking. Time. is getting old, like real old. We get it, you can't control yourself and you're gonna buy 40 bikes and load'em up with SLs as you need to win at toy soldiers.

Ugh. I'm not getting the new bikes as while they are sexy, I have a unit of the older ones and the styles conflict. I am however splashing out and getting a spiritseer as I like the look of him and I've already 10 warlocks.

Am I the only one pleased to hear that the leaks seem to show Aspects outside of min Avengers, dragons and spiders are viable? 

I'm pissed off if you haven't noticed. This kind of shit and flak for collecting X faction is ridiculous. It's not like most current eldar players would have the TL-shuriken catapult bikes now, would they?
