Following up last weeks Whirlwind, I have another tank for the Executioners. I'm slowly working towards a decent armored task force, this time with a Vindicator. The Vindicator brings some heavy close ranged firepower that should work very well with my mechanized Executioners. If nothing else, it will distract a lot of firepower away from my Rhinos.

This is definitely the least modified model I've ever painted for the Executioners. It's heavy armor adds a lot of texture to the model, so there was nowhere that looked appropriate to add my standard scrolls and chains. I didn't even add skulls to it as it seemed to have a good number already. The only space for freehand was the door on the left side of the hull, which received the Chapter symbol.

However, I did have a lot of fun weathering the dozer blade. I wanted it to look like it was really churning up the ground, rather than just getting some mud splattered on it. To achieve the effect, I used three colors of brown weathering pigments much more heavily than I usually do. I then washed them twice with rubbing alcohol to really mix them together. It was an experiment, but I think it turned out fairly close to what I was looking for.

My next project is a bit of a painting treat, working on some old metal marines that I've never had a use for before. They're going to be a start for an Executioners Honor Guard squad.
