Space Wolf

Developed by Hero Craft, They bring you Warhammer 40K: Space Wolves.

Available to you on your
Android and IPhone as a Free to play Game, the Sons of Russ brings to you outstanding visuals from the table top game to life in a turn-based strategy.

The game takes place after the Word bearers attack your ship in orbit of a planet, then crashing to the surface you must avenge the fallen brothers that have been killed by the Heretics. You begin in a small base of operations, and begin the Campaign against the Word bearers and traitors alike.

As a solid game with great features, the game performs beautifully, but while destroying Heretics and Xeno’s alike there are plenty of obstacles in the way, If you prefer to buy your way past these Prepare to lose some cash. Or if you can control the urge to spend and take your time game grinding to gain the resources, a lot of other games would allow you to play the campaign relatively well without a problem. However, you will find a game with many interesting game mechanics with a good storyline, personally getting into the game it was a tactically deepening as a Strategy game.

Space wolf is a Squad turn based strategy card building skirmish Game. Each member of your squad can be managed and levelled up with unique skills and attributes, with their very own deck filled with special equipment. You and your squad mates, and your enemies take turns with the outcome of either dying or completing the primary objective of each mission. Each Mission has both Primary and as well as a Secondary objective, this can contain useful and interesting rewards.

Each turn a member of your squad will be dealt a hand of cards to choose from, you get to play 2 cards each turn and depending on how you have chosen your deck loadout of weapons and equipment, with the dual purpose and can be used as movement cards. Each card has effort stats that determine the turns allocated to squad and enemy turns.

The controls in the game are streamlined and very responsive. The In-game camera allows you to rotate whenever terrain is in the line of sight to perform an action. The user interface is reasonable but parts of the submenus and navigation can be tedious. Using up a total of 1.17GB of memory space the application is 514 MB, and running 220KB on a Samsung Galaxy S5. The Space Wolf APP is a large game but as a fully featured game along with decent cinematics it would be fair to say is acceptable.

The In game weapons are true to the Warhammer 40K universe, Bolters as standard ranged weapon, Plasma deals damage but as a risk, Melta weapons ignore armour, while Flamer deal area damage. Drop pods that land have the chance of causing casualties for anyone under a descending Drop pod.
Game play has a few minor issues; you cannot attack from the side or horizontal opponents without spending one of your action cards. Nor can you walk through your own allies, but can fire weapons through them without causing damage, while ranged weapon cannot fire in diagonal vectors. The Missions maps can sometimes feel confined and claustrophobic
 in some instances.

There is a multiplayer option, where you can battle other space wolves online, see how well your deck and level characters can deal against other players in combat. I would suggest being connected to Wi-Fi when playing PVP. Overall, the Free to play game comes across as fun and interesting with exciting promise, but to get the most out of the game as quickly as possible you will need to buy more in game resources to progress quicker.
