So over the past week I managed to get my Knight Atrapos painted up. I absolutely love this model and it has really invigorated me to get painting properly again. I went for my own paint scheme and have invented my own house: House Asgard.

House Asgard is the ruling Knight house of the Deathworld of Valhalla, at the beginning of the 30thMillennium. Having been brought to compliance in a relatively bloodless affair, one honour duel being fought between the previous High King of House Asgard whom was resistant to the imperium and the young Baron Thorogrim Galufsson, pilot of the storied Knight Lancer Mjólnir. Galufsson believed in the Great Crusade, being swayed by the impassioned speech of Primarch Horus and the Emperor when they addressed the conclave of House Asgard. When the High King decreed to resist compliance Galufsson, some would say rashly, challenged the king to a duel to settle the matter.

Galufsson’s bold gesture drew the attention of Fabricator Locum Kelbor Hal, Horus’ personal Mechanicum advisor. The Imperium could not be seen to be directly influencing the duel but Kelbor Hal managed to apply some minor but crucial modifications, notably the installation of the experimental Sanctuary shielding device. Galufsson won the duel, that tale will be told elsewhere, became the new High King and House Asgard joined the great crusade helping conquer the galaxy in the name of the Imperium, Illumination and the Emperor.

Decades later Jarl Preceptor Henrickssen, Knight Scion and custodian of the Venerable Knight Atrapos Ragnarók, stands at the precipice of galactic upheaval and civil war. House Asgard has campaigned tirelessly with the Sons of Horus, winning countless wars through valour and noble sacrafic, standing shoulder to shoulder with their Astartes comrades. Bonds forged over decades will be pushed to the limit, stretched and even broken. Will House Asgard follow their campaign partners into heresy, rebellion and treachery? Will they hold firm to the ideals of the Imperium, their High King and the noble Emperor? Or will they tread their own path, forging a new empire, disenfranchised with the failed crusade and the decadence of man….

Henrickssen is at forefront, his House is called to aid, he is the closest at hand, the High King is missing and he is ranking Jarl. To whom will he answer….
