It was a pleasant experience to finish this new Vanguard Force from Gundabad for the Battle Companies expansion. Painting 6 models in a row is something I can still do without getting too much distraction in between. I am pretty curious to see how the elite from Mount Gundabad will perform in their first match. I think I will nominate the 3 Orcs wearing shields as the heroes.
In the meantime Flattervieh and me had our first match with two Battle Companies made from our old stock of miniatures. It was Rohan fighting Moria in the scenario 6 (stand your ground). All I can say is that it was (not surprisingly) a whole lot of fun to play. Especially the evolution of the warbands and heroes is something very much in the vein of Mordheim (which is always a good thing). Even though the Goblins from Moria won this match I couldn’t spend my influence points as I am saving them up for a Cave Troll – ha! Oh, and my boss suffered a permanent leg wound but he was never keen on leading attacks anyway, haha.

Getting started. The Moria Goblins had to defend the hill against the incoming Rohirim.
The bows of Men were able to shot over a longer distance.
Eventually the Goblins were able to drive back the Horse Men. Most likely because they had no horses – Ha!
