All bow before the might of Khorne!
2019 sees my first commission completed. My client wanted a mean looking Khorne Warlord for a new 40k army. The key requirement is it had to be mounted on a Juggernaut, Khorne's favourite brass bull/rhino thing. I had free reign with everything else. I wanted the model to have a natural pose and direction, with plenty of detail.
The plastic Juggernaut forms the base model. It has a more natural movement to it than the original metal one, is lighter and is much easier to work with. The plastic rider's legs work just fine in this application, though I needed to make a greenstuff half-dome so the forge world khorne berserker torso would fit better. The gaps were covered with chain mail made from greenstuff.
Chain weapons are usually a big thing in Berserker armies, so I made sure this general had the biggest and baddest one of all! I believe this giant twin-chained sword comes from Kromlech. More than enough to cleave even dreadnoughts in two.
For the frothing mad-man look, the head is from the 30k Rampagers, the one with with angry roaring face, bionic eye and butchers nails.
I'm pleased to confirm the client loved it, and I hope to see a painted version in the coming weeks. Black Cat Studios is my latest venture, and if you're able to support me by liking and sharing, or even asking for your own custom leaders, please do :)
