Day two of ten, and a bit of progress!

With only a bit of time after work (thank's a lot 43 hour week!) it's a small but significant step today. The shaping process has begun...

The first step was to start shaping the foam into a more manageable, natural shape, cutting off a number of the 90 degree angles and curving the back half of the foam to match the shape of the cork base.

It was also a great opportunity to start building the trench wall. A few chopped up coffee stirrers form the basic wall pieces. I wanted the walls to show signs of damage, so a few smaller snapped pieces have been added around a crater.

Once the glue dries I'll start using filler to build the landscape up some more. That's it for day two, stay tuned for tomorrow's update.
