Happy Saint Patty's day! Read on to see what I've been painting and playing this month.
Let's start off with the big guy, my dark Avatar of Khaine. I've had this primed on the shelf for years but lacked the motivation to work on him until recently -- started writing army lists for 40k again, one of which features every Eldar miniature I own (a whopping 4 models), but I'll get to that in a future post. I also couldn't decide on a paint scheme until I stumbled upon Cavalier's most excellent work, which you can see more on this specific model on his instagram. Mine is 100% inspired by Cavalier's paint scheme, tho I have something a little different to try when I get to the hair / plume.
I also picked up some new paints and was most excited to try out Citadel Dry: Ryza Rust. Not a great picture but the first thing I did with it was add some much needed rusty corrosion to the metals on my Sepulchral Guard warband:
Hasn't all been list building and painting, I also had a really fun game of Kill Team against my friend's Adeptus Mechanicus:
The terrain looked incredible and made the board extra immersive!
Kill Team isn't the only game being played tho. In a proud parent moment, my son Gabe asked if we could play a game of 40k
This is a moment I think all gamer parents look forward to and I was ecstatic to say the least! We started off small with just a couple of troop squads and an HQ per side, but I was incredibly proud of Gabe and how quickly he picked up the mechanics of 40k. It was a pretty smooth transition building off his experience with Kill Team. Needless to say, I'm super stoked to be getting back into 40k again!
