So after the confirmation from GW about being able to run 35 zombies per squad as it was not an upgrade ( which was the dumbest rules argument to date ) I purchased one of Mantic's Zombie Corps kits. 80 Zombie guard for 80 dollars. The ad basically said with a little conversion these guys could be made into a very fluff version of IG/PDF zombies. Well I'm not stranger to converting models and seeing most of the parts are already shaped it should be no biggy to get these together and look ok. Well they suck. Yep the 2 kits you receive are zombies from the fantasy line and the guard guys from the Warpath line. The zombies use a ball and socet torso, while the IG guys are one piece legs and torso. So nothing too big right? just cut them in half. Well short of a machete good luck. The resin is super hard and making a flat cut is crappy when trying to mate a ball/socet torso to the lower IG half. I will say if you have the time this can be done, but again most are looking at min 80 zombies to convert . It is frustrating as all heck if you make a bad cut or not . Now you have to greenstuff the midsection to get the proportions right. Oh and now that you used green stuff you have to sculpt so it doesn't look like he has a bagel around his midsection. The Guns/rifles are also horrible casts. too thin and all full of flash. I can say the warpath kit is probably the worst resin/plastic miniature kit I have seen in recent memory. I really hate these and would recommended anyone to go to another company for Zombies.
