I won't lie. I get burnt out too, sometimes.  After the NOCF army I was thrown right into a weekend course with Fernando Ruiz (More on that in another post!). It was an actual painting overload, but in a good way. I just needed to do a fun personal project while my new skills marinated and I chilled out a bit... and what showed up in the mail? My Massive Voodoo paint box!!! You know how much I like staining display cubes, so I bet you can guess where this is going...

I love the smell of burning wood in the morning!
***DISCLAIMER: Almost none of this art work is mine. Just the freehand flowers at the top and the paisley & circles design on the front of the shelf in the pics that follow. ***
The rest mainly comes from Google images and Deviant Art.
I just grabbed art work that spoke to me and made me happy, transferred it to the box and burned it in!
Let's have a look...
I also learned some things like: Let the burning tool cool down before changing bits or they will deform and snap off in the tool :(
Oh well,I bought it cheap on sale at Micheal's and guess what was on sale again with a 40% off coupon? I even got an upgraded one with more cool attachments!!!

The burning only took about a week and I didn't even burn myself!

Also, here is a fun charity initiative if you are looking to contribute your skills to one: Little Heroes For Little Heroes I have had this little Harely Quinn mini just begging to be painted for a few years "Aw, come on puddin' paint me already!" she says, from the depths of the cupboard of doom :P

Next post: Stains, inks and oils! AND a brief review of the painting class with Fernando Ruiz! Thanks for stopping in, don't forget to scroll the blog roll or hit me with some comments, and remember; you can't spell paint without a little pain :)
