Over a week ago I posted a Workbench Update that included these four Ogre Leadbelchers. It wasn’t until three nights ago that I got back to working on them, after finishing up some other figures. But here they are, ready to get their dip on:
Actually, their brush on, I guess I should say. The other batch of Ogres that got some Quickshade on them are still waiting for a matte spray, but I will post some pics of them tomorrow to show the middle stage of the whole process.
Anyway, the Leadbelchers got pretty much the same work done on them as did the Ogres. Most of the colours used were the same, although I substituted (P3) Ordic Olive, (P3) Beast Hide and (P3) Underbelly Blue for three of their pants (the fourth using (P3) Rucksack Tan again, as I had forgotten I wanted to mix it up). I just wanted to see how different colours reacted to the Quickshade, for future reference, and it gives the army a touch of variety. Actually, here’s a sneak peak at the dipped models, and how Rucksack Tan looks after being dipped, before matte sprayed, compared to fresh from the pot:
The cannons were painted with a variety of colours as well: (P3) Pig Iron, (Reaper) Old Bronze, (Reaper) Coppery Orange and the last a mix of the latter two. Again, I wanted to see how different colours looked with the dip, and so for my next set of Leadbelchers I will try other colours, and reuse the ones I like from this batch. I also added some gunpowder residue on the business ends of the cannons. All I did was drybrush (P3) Thamar Black. Not as pretty as using pigments, I’m sure, but I think it looks fine. What didn’t look fine was my thumb afterwards:
A small bit of new colour in this group is (P3) Wurm Green on the Gnoblar, which I hope looks good after the dip, as I plan on having more Gnoblars in my army. I’ll probably get them dipped tonight or tomorrow.
And speaking of tomorrow, it looks like Ray is finally able to bring out his Chaos Dwarves tomorrow night! I’m looking forward to it because a) I have never seen the Chaos Dwarves on the table other than in youtube videos, and b) I don’t have to face his dang Vampires again! Sweet!
Hopefully I can get a batrep done for it, as I’ve played a number of games in the last while, but haven’t written anything for.
Anyway, check back tomorrow for those dipped Ogres, and in the coming days for more goodies.
Thanks for reading.
