Here's the second half of my second new Blood Angels Tactical squad. They're painted the same as the previous Marines, but I'm happy to be finished with them. Painting red is wearing on me and I think I need a break.

The reason that these are of note is the Sergeant's power sword. It's my first real attempt at blending. I tried to blend the edge from dark green to a bright yellow green. I often see power weapons painted the same way, but in blue. I don't think I used enough of the blending medium to make the colors transparent, so the transitions aren't as smooth as I'd like, but it's a decent first try.

I magnetized the Sergeant's arms so he can also have a combi-flamer and chainsword. This will give me a lot more flexibility, as I'm starting to like power weapons on my Sergeants but often don't have the points for it. I also left off the squad marking on this Sergeant. As I already have multiple models painted up as first and second squad Sergeants, this fellow can stand in for the Sergeant of any squad. Since he has textured knee pads, I don't think the lack of squad marking stands out.

Next up will be an Escher Gang for Necromunda. They'll be a good break from Marines, and I'm planning to use them to experiment with more blending and improve my skin tones. I really don't have a lot of experience painting skin, and I'll need it for the models from my Conan board game kickstarter.
