My last post appeared on this blog nearly six months ago.  Originally I planned to take a break from gaming and the blog and work on some other personal and family projects.  I wanted more time with my daughter and wife.  I wanted more time to fix up the house.  I really wanted to move out of this house and be in a new home before the holidays.  Well, some of that certainly happened.

GenCon changed everything.  I originally went to experience the spectacle and help out at the Infinity gaming area.  While there I chatted with Tony DiTerlizzi, Larry Elmore, and other favorites in the industry.  I met some newer industry folks like Mike Schley.  I certainly helped out at the Infinity gaming area where I worked for almost two full days.  I met a ton of great community supporters for Infinity including Guillermo, Nestor, Mike Klein, Carlos, Doremicom, and others and, very much like Adepticon I walked away with a ton of new friends.

The effect of GenCon took some time to wear off.  After GenCon I took over the day-to-day event organizing for the local Infinity group from the Warcor who helped us create the group.  A duty I share with my partner-in-crime, Miniature Tim.  So far I've run a ton of events and we have a thriving Infinity community that keeps me busy writing and running events.  But, that's a post for another day. So my gaming has gone from intermittent gaming with two or three close friends to regularly scheduled play with a group of ten to fifteen.

For the record, I did manage to spend more time with the wife and daughter too but we are still in the same old house and I haven't had much time for fixing things up much less selling the damn place.  That will happen this year.  Period.

During these months I often thought about the blog.  I came up with many great articles that would run through my head as I commuted to and from work, chatted with gaming buddies, or sat here at my desk writing up rules for events. But I didn't have time.  There is never enough time, is there?

I just have to do it.  I know I can't make time but I feel I can be a better steward of the time already allotted to me.

In the coming days the blog will see a reboot.  I plan to redo the layout and graphics.  I am scheduling content right now and planning my posts out for the next few months.  Many of these articles are already written.  Some need editing.  Some need photos.  Some aren't written.  Regardless, regular content will start to appear this week or early next week.  I won't promise a schedule as I need to ascertain what is plausible and what is reasonable.

As for topics, The blog will continue to maintain a focus on Infinity.  However, it may very well stray into the territory of Star Wars: Armada and X-Wing as those have both found a resurgence here due to their quick setup, breakdown, and play times.  Malifaux is still a possibility but I warn everyone, I'm not actively playing Malifaux at the moment.  Historicals will always stay in the queue and board games may actually crop up as well given my fascination with Kingdom Death and my wife's agreement to a board game night.

You won't see any further GW content on this website.  I'm done with them.  I may still own some models for their games and I will likely paint them in the future but I've officially washed my hands of that company.  I still love my Skaven.  I still love my Alpha Legion.  I still love the specialist games.  But I can't support a company who is so out of tune with their own customers.  Much less the arrogance they display.  I won't delete the content already on the blog, but I won't be posting more pertaining to their games/miniatures unless it is truly astounding (such as I finally get all my Skaven painted or the release of Alpharius from Forge World).
