UK Games Expo has always aimed to build an event that anyone can attend from as young as around 4 upwards and enjoy as a family.
Cheap Tickets
Firstly we have always let any Primary School child (aged 10 and below) in for free. Then we have great value on Family Tickets where 2 Adults and 2 11 to 15 year old get have a full day's fun and games for just £30.
The Fuel their Imagination Family ZoneOver 300 sqm of space is allocated to the Fuel their Imagination Family Zone. In here are dedicated staff whose role is to find you games for your and your family to play together and enjoy. Simple games lasting minutes only or longer games - but all taught you so you need know nothing. There will be giant games too, carpet games and a craft area.

Children can experience the world of Roleplaying Games where they get to be the hero. Our group of dedicated Children Games Masters are back, with three different games on the go, so youngsters can pick their fate, or come back for a second or even a third helping.
The games are recommended for children aged Five to Twelve. No knowledge of rules is needed — just imagination and a willingness to learn. It is advisable to sign up early, as places fill up very quickly.

Always a popular part of UK Games Expo, the costumed groups attending 2016 will be portraying characters and monsters from Doctor Who and Star wars and many other popular shows and films as well as a bunch of hairy Vikings.
The Cosplayers will strut their stuff on stage in regular parades. The vIkings will give weapons displays.
Be part of the fun! Visitors, including families and children are all welcome to attend in costume.
There is even a competition on the Sunday for best costumes.
Packed Trade HallThere are dozens of exhibitors who focus on family or children's games. Most will have demos of games within their stand which you can play for free.

Food Festival on the Carpark of the Hilton Hotel 5 to 10 mins away from Hall One on foot. Lots of lovely street food at nice low prices.
What about Access?
The NEC and Hilton Hotel have good disabled and buggy access throughout and there are baby changing toilets at the entrance to Hall One.
Resort World
Non gaming family members? Nearby (5 mins from Hall 1) is the Outlet Village packed with shops, bars and restaurants and even a cinema. They shop and you game and you meet for a meal later. Sorted!
