Seems that GW will be releasing chaos daemons for pre-order on the 23rd.  Most of the internet rumor mongers have already weighed in on the nerf bat for daemons as well.  Will they come true?  Not sure and don't care.  I'm sure every marine player is hoping fearless and EW go away for daemons, as well as the whole deep strike deployment.  How can you blame them?  I mean power armor armies have been winning for years up  until the last few months against daemons so we better go back to basics.

I hope the Chaos Daemons get cool stuff and not too much of a nerfing by GW, but I also secretly want GW to gut this dex for a more cinematic feel ( AKA ruin the entire thing).  That may actually prompt me to finally sell this damn army.  This will be fun. :)








You know it :
Army wide no Eternal warrior, 5++, standard deployment,   and no more fearless:


Bloodletter.   19 points, take away fearless, add counter charge and rage.  Yes,  than may to buy a banner to get fearless for 35 points and a power weapon for 3 points each( can get axes).  Still no shooting though.    So 246 for a unit of 10. Sounds awesome right. lets move on

Plague bearer.  Since we like these guys now and we have the models we need to screw them pronto.  20 points, no deepstrike, slow and purposeful, T4 ( don't worry you can by a toughness banner and get it back for 35 points), not fearless, no shooting, 1 attack, they also suffer "nurgles confusion"  which is when confronted by 10 or more enemies in a unit they must take a leadership test as they can become confused about counting things and BTW the new leadership is an 8.  

Nurglings.  15 points .Still a troop, but can't hold, contest, or capture an objective. Since this is nurgle they are not beasts and gain slow and purposeful, FNP.  really who gives a shit.  next.  

Horrors. Remain same except they decrease to 16 points, lose the bolt, and changeling options. No 4++ save, it move to army wide 5++.   Still WS 3

Daemonettes. Remain same, but decrease in points to 12 and lose an attack.  Auto win here LOL. 5++, 1 attack, no fearless, slow, no shooty.

Furies with no wings. 4 points each , 35 in a squad, same stats as IG horde. I champion per 10 has rending.  NOT FEARLESS and CANNOT BE JOINED.

Now for the HQ's!!!

HQ will require a demonic check if near another gods troop unit etc. if the squad fails a leadership check they go back to warp

Fateweaver.  Loses reroll saves, is now 350 ponits, fearless, not EW, T5 still. Gains ability to nerf psychic  powers on a 4+ for entire table .  access to all spells ( see loc below )

Bloothirster.  +2 collar of khorne protects him and any squad with 6" on a +2.  WS10, INT 8.  300 points. everything else is the same.

Great unlcean one.  is shrouded for a +4 save. same stats. except gains nurgle psy powers from CSM dex for additional 50 points.  Base cost is 230.

Keeper of secrets.  Stats get increased to 10 for WS and int. no more pavayne. a leadership test will need to be take everytime the deamon kills as it goes into a state of bliss.  Fail and he goes tot he warp.  will move like a beast.  285 points.  May upgrade to psy power for 50 pts.

Lord of change.  Has access to all spells/ powers, but any spell taken outside of core tzeentch spells must roll on a 3d6. a double will cause a wound.  330 base.

Skarbrand.  Still sucks and gets an super AXE that bypasses EW and is a daemon weapon.  10-15 attacks. 300 points base.  his rage makes all models in 12 rage ( even friendly )

Daemon prince goes to HQ and is the same as the CSM dex.

Changeling.  He becomes an herald hq. Gains some tzeentch powers(2), but is 100 points base. 50 points extra he is mastery 3.


Elites

Flamers. Lose EW and fearless.  25points

Bloodcrushers.  65 points, cavalry, limit 5 in squad. One less attack, rage and counter attack though

Beasts of nurgle.  35 points, slow and purposeful, 1d6 attacks, +6 armor save, FNP

Fiends.  Same,  2 points decrease cost.


Fast

Furies.  These will get a bump and be the horde thing for daemons. 6 points each, cannot still be joined by any IC.  no shooting.  basically a tyranid gargoyle without a gun.

Screamers.  no EW does these guys in and come in @ 30 points each.  lose 1 attack

Plague drones.  60 points .  big flys that have plague bearers on them.  They spit acid or poo or something    think landspeeder with flamer template( str6,AP4).  T5 , 2 wounds.


Heavy

Soulgrinders.  same stats, gain daemon forge, 200 points 220 with all the gun options

Chariots: these are back and have same stats, but add tzeentch and khorne.  80 points base.  10ar all around.  No one will take these.

hell cannon. 270 base,  fires ectoplasma(S8, AP2 with soul fire (ordnance 3 heavy).  rerolls against tzeentch.
