A while back, Puppetswar released a set of Executioner Heads. They really called to me. For one, they're called Executioner heads. I had to look into them just because of that. Even better, they're clearly supposed to be Judge heads from the Judge Dredd comics. The helmets, the jawlines, the sneers; they're all spot on. I already have specific helmets I use for my full Marines, but I needed helmeted heads for Scouts.

I picked up 2 sets. The sculpting is top notch, and they look great in person. There were a few small problems with the casting. Almost every helmet had a lot of flash at the base of the neck, but that's easy to clean off and not in a very visible spot.

There were also a few bubbles in the resin. All of the yelling heads had bubbles in the visors.

And this one had an unfortunate bubble in his chin.

Fortunately, all of these were very simple to fill in with green stuff.

Other than that, I'm very happy with the quality. The detail is crisp and there is very little flash beyond what I mentioned. They look really great. If I had any complaints, it's that the detail on the mouths of the closed-mouth heads isn't deep enough to pick up washes, so you have to be a bit more careful painting them.

Here's a little teaser for next week.

The necks for these heads look like they were designed for power armor style torsos, which have a deep bowl for articulating the head. Unfortunately, Scout bodies don't have this; they've just got a small divot and the heads sit almost flat on the torso. I used a dremel to hollow out a bowl for these heads in the Scout torsos, and they went on pretty easily.

The biggest bonus is that they look way better than the official Scout heads.
