Finally got the pictures taken before its delivery to the customer. I didn't have a light colored backdrop big enough. For some reason if I use a dark backdrop my crappy camera washes out the picures and I can't fix them in photoshop. Anyways, all done.
I used a mix of different colors of static grass and army painter grass tufts to break up the base. I extended the rocks from the plactic one the miniature is resting his claw on with some slate chips. I looked at a lot of reference shots to try to get the tiger stripes right and lopped off the horse tail at the end so it actually looked like a tiger tail.
I was surprised that Karl Franz didn't have as much detail as I thought he would. I made the armor look bright and polised, but gave the bronze on the shoulders and knee a patina look like his seat and the bronze bits on the Griffon crest. The maroon and white scheme is the colors of my FLGS Stoming Grounds.
Overall I'm happy with the way it turned out. One good thing about painting for other people is that I get to paint up some great kits without going broke buying them all myself!
