First off, I'd like to apologize for that pun. I can resist everything but temptation. Puns are the big red button that I cantc not push.
It's been a while since I've painted an army for myself. It can be very fun coming up with a narrative and variations on a theme. With an escalation league happening at my local store I was inspired to gibe Age of Sigmar a try.
Originally I wanted to play Kharadron Overlords but after delving into the rules, they didn't play how I wanted them to. I wanted to be lord of the skies, shooting off the deck of my airships with mass firepower, but you can't. So it was back to the drawing broad, I chose the stormcast because it would give me some variety to work with. This way I could field an army that contained cavalry, wizards, and a dragon. Count me in!
I chose to create my own theme based on my Celtic lineage and the Blackhall Chamber was born. The first step was to get a 500 point list together, mainly some battle line troops. So I put together 10 sequitors, 3 castigators, and and evocator prime to play the part of my lord arcanum. I want to customise my models but don't have a lot of leftover bits yet, I also plan on fielding a mounted general as time goes on and the points value increases.
After assembly, I split them into smaller groups for painting.
At this point the sequitors are finished, just have to squeeze out the castigators and my wizard. Also, make some scenery to match my snow bases so I can better dominate the tabletop wan stay en vogue.
