A while ago I impulse purchased an old titan a buddy of mine was selling. It was a 3D printed, bright yellow, battle scared, and cheap. It was also the same bright yellow titan featuring in one of the rounds of my first and only tournament win.

After clearing the worst of the print lines and replacing some damaged parts, I decided to have a go at a quirky purple and white half-flame scheme. This changed to purple and blue, then stalled for several months.

For too long it's been standing immobile on the top of my painting desk, it's purple and blue/grey hull gathering dust. I don't know if it was my feelings on the colour scheme the fact that the purple spray was resisting all of my paints, seeing a really cool (genuine) titan at my local store, or a combination of the three, but I've taken the plunge to completely start over. I had another go at smoothing out the panels: whilst I haven't been able to get rid of all the print lines, the panels are smoother where it counts, and I could always use the damage to my advantage.

At the moment the bulk of the model is Leadbelcher spray, which to be honest has made the renovation much easier. Not only are all the metallic parts covered (of which there is a lot) it also lets me paint on top without the paints beading on the surface.

This time around I'm trying out a more universal 'multi-God scheme, not necessarily tied to a particular Chaos God. I'll pick out the armour in black first, and see where that takes me. One idea is to divide the model into quadrants and dedicate each part to a god: the Khorne part would be caked in blood, the Nurgle section rusty and worn, and the Tzeentch and Slaanesh sections would be pristine and colourful. It might be too much for one model, so before I commit I'll do some research on other titan colour schemes to see what look good.
