I realize alot of you maybe aren't Tau players, but I have been thinking of how to make a Tau list with the new 'Dex(see some of Mercer's earlier Tau codex Reviews for some info on it) and I have come up with this:
Tau - 2,000 points
HQ
Shas’O: Iridium Battlesuit, Cyclic Ion Blaster, Missile Pod, Early Warning Override, Counterfire Defense System, Puretide Engram Neurochip, Neuroweb System Jammer
Troops
Troops
6 Fire Warriors: Devilfish w/SMS

Riptide:Velocity Tracker,Early Warning Override,Ion Accelerator
Riptide:Velocity Tracker,Early Warning Override,Ion Accelerator
Riptide:Velocity Tracker,Early Warning Override,Ion Accelerator,1 Shielded Missile Drones
5 Pathfinders:
5 Marker Drones
5 Marker Drones
Hammerhead: Longstrike, SMS, Submunition Rounds, Disruption pods
Hammerhead: SMS, Submunition Rounds, Blacksun Filters
2 Broadside: HYMP
Hammerhead: SMS, Submunition Rounds, Blacksun Filters
2 Broadside: HYMP
I have 45 points to spend...more Pathfinders? 5 more Firewarriors across the 3 squads? Not sure...
any flier/DS'unit has to go through the Commander's Interceptor shots(5 s7 bs5 shots with Tank Hunters) as well as all three riptides(another 9 s7 shots) or if not a flier than the 3 Ion Accelerators from the Riptides will do Large Blast action before they can Run :)
The Pathfinder team is a nuisance team, I don't expect them to fire much before they get torrented to death. May drop them in favor of Marker Drones. I know they don't hit as much as are slightly more expensive but they can JSJ so are wayyyyy more survivable. My pathfinders always die first or maybe second turn.
Some Questions...
Should the Riptides take TL Fusion Blasters instead? Am thinking better anti-flier?
And I am also wondering if the commander should join a Riptide to give it Tank Hunter...would certainly make the beasty more...beasty.

I could drop the Pathfinders then use the other 45 points as well to add in 3 more firewarriors to each squad(would have a total of 89 points to spend at that point) or maybe cut the pathfinders and one Broadside then stick in another FW squad in Fury Fish?
So what do you Tau players think? And for you non-Tau players, do you think this would put your army (tell what it is) in a world of hurt or would I just get toasted?
