So in the midst of my recent articles about planning for upcoming armies, I also have this little project of prepping an 1850 list to go to the NOVA Open at the end of August/Beginning of September. I wanted to do an update to cover my progress.

The list as it stands consists of the following:

Nurgle Lord on Bike
Red Corsairs Sorcerer
Tzeentch Herald
10 Cultists
10 Pink Horrors
15 Plague Marines (4 plasma, 2 melta, 3 Power Axe)
3 Death Guard Rhinos
5 Bikers
2 Heldrakes
5 Havocs
1 Red Corsairs Rhino
Aegis Line
Display Board (will include 2 modular pieces of ruined wall scenery and 2-3 modular trees)

Everything in the list except the scenery for my board has been primed.

The Nurgle Lord on Bike and CSM Bikes are complete, including being matte varnished (iPhone picture of the biker champ included here, I will have more and better pictures once I get batteries for my camera):

The Sorcerer is also complete and varnished:

The Tzeentch Herald and Pink Horrors are table painted to 3 colors standard, but need detail work and basing. I have the bases primed, I just need to finish painting the models and bases:

My Cultists are painted and dipped, I may hit them with a matte varnish to reduce their glare a bit:

For my plague marines, all but 3 are painted based and dipped, again I am considering using a matte coat to relax the glare:

All 4 Rhinos are close to done, they just need some extra detailing. The aegis line is primed and washed and I have begun detailing a single segment. I am hoping to get this done by the end of the weekend:

As for my board, it is WIP, but has come a good bit further than this shot:

The two Heldrakes bases are also WIP, one of the Drakes is nearly done being painted, the other is base coated and primed, but needs hours of work. The modular rubble walls for the display board are built, but need to be primed and painted. The only remaining part of my board that I don't have yet is the trees I am planning to add to the forest part of the board and on one of my Heldrake's bases.
