Nick speaking,

So, just in case you are not aware, I am helping to oversee a team of forty very talented wargamers from the YouTube community, to give you a chance to win a fantastic Salamanders army, all built up and painted. All the proceeds from this project will go towards the HELP for HEROES charity, which I am sure you will all agree, is a very worthwhile cause. I myself, will be converting and painting up an Assault on Black Reach Dread, that was donated to the project by the very generous Jason Prior...

My aim is to make this very static Dread look as dynamic as I can make him, so first of all, I cut his leg off at the knee joint and repositioned it backwards. I was careful not to cut the piping, which just bent back into the new position without any problems. Just a bit of green stuff work will be needed here to fill the gap, but it was pretty easy to do...

To help get the pose even more exaggerated, I used a piece of angled slate on his base. Once I pin him to it, he should start to look like he is charging forward and hopefully look like a totally different Dread...

Taking the dynamic side a step further, I then green stuffed in an angled section on his body for his arm, and set in some magnets and let it dry. That's it for now, watch out for the next post where I will get the other arm done and start to make it look more like a Salamander Dread...
