So I went to Dropzone and play a guys Tau.  He didn't want to do Tau v. Tau and I didn't feel like throwing together a Space Marine list without fully reading the book.  So I modified my 2k point list I used at Unification Wars.  Here it is. 

The mission was "Purge the Alien" on Vanguard.

Terrain was sparse but against Tau it might have not been there.  He split his forces up into three parts.  Back corner was two Riptides with Ions, Longstrike, Skyray, and Pathfinders.  to the left of that was an Aegis with Cadre, Ethereal and Firewarriors.  To the left of that was Riptide with Burst, Suit commander, Hammerhead and pathfinders.  He reserved the Crisis and Kroot.

I set up in a line with the exception of the IG who stayed in the back.  I reserved both Cult squads, and things that I needed to reserve. Of course, my opponent steals initiative.

Top of Turn 1 - He takes out two oblitz and wounds a Maulerfiend. 

Bottom of Turn 1 - Move forward and have my psychic powers denied.  Oblit fires plasma cannon and wounds the far left Riptide.

Top of Turn 2 - Gets in the three suit in but deepstrikes into my Manticore and are misplaced. I put them way out of range.  He blows up the wounded Maulerfiend and kills two spawn.  He also puts a wound on the Khorne Lord.  He manages to kill three guardsman.

Bottom of Turn 2 - 1 drake, vendetta and cult squad arrive.  He shoots and fails to wound the drake.  Move up and fail psychic powers again.  Oblit fires and does nothing.  Blow up the Skyray with the Manticore.  Flames the squad of pathfinders killing 10.  Assaults the Firewarriors with lord and spawn/sorcerer and kills them.  I also blew up Longstrikes hammerhead. 

Top of Turn 3 - He gets the flamer suit in and kroot.  DS next to Manticore safely.  Immobilizes the other Maulerfiend, kills my warlord and spawn squad.  Kills 5 cultists.

Bottom of Turn 3 - Get in other Helldrake and cult squad. Kill some kroot.  Finish off Cadre Fireblade, two crisis suits, and Ethereal (Soulblaze).  Forget to fire the Oblitz. My cultist kills some Kroot. 

Top of Turn 4 - He kills all of the vet squad  Kills three more cultists.  I made two 5++ of the Primirus and he survives. 

Bottom of Turn 4 - I put a HP on the remaining Hammerhead.  I psychic shriek the flamer suit.  Vector strike the other suit.  I kill his remaining FW.  I also kill the fusion Riptide due to a "lookout sir".

Top of  Turn 5 - Kills some cultists.  He assaults the Oblit and loses combat and runs.

Bottom of Turn 5 - Uneventful.  I make some moves but not much.

Game ends with me having Line Breaker and he having First Blood and Slay the Warlord.  CSM 13 and Tau 8.
