Now the painting begins in earnest. Pre-shading & base coats were first!
I used the following colors to base coat & pre-shade the cliff above...

Next up was the Knight:
Again it looks like a base coat, but there is pre-shading, I swear. The colors below where used...
The dragon was last and his pre-shading shows up best.

Finally I got to do some brush work on the skulls.
There is still some tweaking to do on them, but it a great start to that cartoony look I am trying for with this style of painting!
