Went to the race in Delmar, Iowa.  The results were not quite what we wanted, but we had a lot of fun.  This track is very technical and I actually cut 3.5 seconds off of my lap times from last year.  I'm starting to get the hang of what it takes to get around these sprint tracks.  The first heat race I started second to last and worked my way all the way upto third.  The second heat I started outside the pole ran good until one to go when I spun out in the infamous Toilet Bowl corner.  I managed to get it going again and finished fourth.  The third race, we got started with clouds moving in.  And when I entered the toilet bowl corner I got flushed by a light rain shower.  Least to say 3 1/2-inch wide slicks are not good on wet pavement, nearly lost it a half dozen times just driving slowly back to the pits.

The surprising part was that my kart took home a prize for Best Modified Original.  That was something that I did not expect.  Pretty cool.  My dad did all of the restoration and modifications to the kart.  I'm just the driver.
So that ends our Vintage season.  We went 4 out of 5 for class wins in the Mac49 Class.  I won one class win in four events, my dad won three in five events.  We hope to go test some things at Brodhead in a couple weeks to prepare for next season.
