I showed pictures in a previous post not too long ago of the body damage on my oval kart and I had started the repair work.  I had some time this past weekend to get more of the work done on the fiberglass. The repairs came along nicely and got relatively smoothed out.

Below is the nose.  You can see the glass repair work in the lower right.  I DA sanded and block sanded everything out.  The blue is also coming off, as I'm going to change the paint scheme up a bit, adding some yellow and orange.  Everything low and in the contact areas will remain black.  As I worked on the other pieces, my dad got out the bondo and filled the imperfections in the nose.

Below you see the inside of the nose.  You can see on each end, the broken pieces that got redone in fiberglass repair, the lighter pieces.

Then there are the side panels.
The repair of the upper right side panel was pretty simple.
So after hitting everything with 80 grit, I went to 180 grit, we let the bondo filler cure up, and then smoothed that out with the 180 and then wet sanded everything.  Now they are setting in the paint both to get sprayed with primer.  So we are moving along nicely.  And now I'm looking for a modern sprint kart to sprint/road race with.  So the family of karts will be growing once again.
