Behind the Blog – Eye of Error

In the Grim Dark Future, there is war, and blogging about said war. Also blogging about anything and everything else going on. Blogging is a thankless job most times, and while our online community is pretty awesome in general as we celebrate all things Grim Dark, hobby, and miniature related. Seldom is the curtain pulled back to shine a light behind the scenes. The people who devote themselves to the dark god's of blogging work away frantically keeping the posts flowing. So in this series we will be speaking to some of our communities most dedicated. Getting a small glimpse into the minds of our fellow bloggers, and pillars of our online world. To get this glimpse a short series of questions went out into the warp, and these are the bloggers who responded.

Today we speak with Eye of Error




If you aren't following Eye of Error it clearly means you either don't follow blogs, or you haven't found it yet. We have already heard a number of other bloggers mention this site as a inspiration ranking our buddy among names like Dave Taylor. I could tell you about his outstanding work in various categories of evil models he paints, but I'll let the pictures below speak for themselves.

What originally got you into blogging?


Being a Graphic Designer in the corporate world, I often feel that I don't get the kind of respect or appreciation for the amount of time and thought I spend on any particular design. Most clients I've worked with feel that you can just click a few buttons and Viola "INSTANT AWESOME DESIGN".

Miniature Models are a way for me to just get creative without too many restrictions. And blogging is a way for me to share that with people partially to help and inspire and partially to get the appreciation for my efforts I don't get with my career.


Is there a story behind your blogs name?

I'm not the greatest player, and at times I make seriously stupid errors. But I always played Chaos in the past. During a Game my friend Kirk was like "Eye of Terror, pfft..more like Eye of Error" and it stuck.

Can you name two articles you have written in the past you really enjoy and why?

I really enjoy many of the tutorial articles I've done in the past.

How do you keep up with blogging and how much time does it take up out of your personal life?

My wife and I both set nights out of the week where we spend time working on personal projects, It helps that she has just as many hobbies as I do. So we just hobby together in the same room and still hang out. I try to build up an amount of articles and photograph all the minis, write the articles, etc in a batch. Then post them spaced out a few days apart.

If you had one tip for a newer blogger what would you tell them?

Don't let the blog control you I guess? Blogging is meant to be fun and not really a job unless you are an online marketer (in which case I doubt you are playing with little plastic soldiers)

Any final words before we wrap this thing up?

I've always enjoyed the blog-o-sphere community way more than the forums. There is a certain level of respect on blogs that's not there on forums. It is a warmer community and I hope it lasts for a long time on the interwebs.
