The forces of Streit suffered a narrow defeat this evening, a valiant effort was made across a broad front to seize the objective, a downed imperial craft. A combined arms assault was made using infantry, heavy armour and orbital artillery support but the weight of fire from the xenos proved too much for the forces of the Imperium and the last few infantry were driven from the objective under a barrage of heavy fire power. Heavy losses were inflicted on the xenos including the destruction of an armoured personal carrier and heavy infantry losses, no losses were sustained to the Streitian high command although losses equivalent to an entire platoon have been confirmed at this time, two heavy armour vehicles have been put out of action and are receiving attention from the tech adepts to restore their machine spirit.
I was quite pleased with my efforts this evening, although a few mistakes were made on my part. an after action report would usually be attached here, but I neglected to make notes at the outset of battle. However, an update on the status of the regiment including the re-enforcements recently received will be forthcoming shortly.
