Greetings fellow wargamers! A few months ago, White Metal Games welcome Mike Hartshorn into our fold, Mike is a local talent and works at the
Gamer's Armoury a FLGS in Cary, NC. Gamer's Armory is notable for several reasons around here, but one reason is their outstanding 40k league! Not only does the league have some of the nicest terrain in town to play on, they also have a very regular schedule! This isn't a once in a while league. These are serious gamers and when a game day is scheduled, you can be sure they show up in droves to play!
Mike is usually the organizer for many of these events. One of the perks of working in a game store is that when there is a little down time, you can squeeze in some painting time. After all, it's just as job related as restocking the shelves at a retail store!
Mike has been working on painting up a set of the Dark Vengeance models between college classes for the last few months and they're finally starting to stack up! He completely his first Dark Angels tac squad a few weeks ago, and now has finished his first Death Wing squad!
Painting white is always a challenge, but Mike makes it look easy! When I asked him about the termies, he said they have a 'surprising amount of detail for a terminator'. Traditionally dreadnought tactical armor wasn't too bad to paint (unless you are a Chaos player). But Deathwing are a double wammy . . . lots of iconography and plenty of white!
