Greeting fellow wargamers!

When it comes to daemon princes, the hard and fast rule of them is anything goes, at least as far as I'm concerned.  The God of Chaos are fickle, and their gifts are equally so.  They may just as easily bestow on a mighty lord the sloughish body of a devotee of nurgle as transform them to spawn.  So when it comes to daemonic gifts, I like to throw caution to the wind and just try whatever takes my fancy.  DP's are a chance where I really get to stretch my legs, creatively, and see what I can come up with.
Case in point I recently worked on two four armed daemon princes.  In the first case, this fly prince of nurgle, I really wanted to work in the fly motif.  Six limbs were a must, as were the fly wings (courtesy of a Baxter Stockman toy figure from the TMNT line, the 90's version) and this spawn head.  I happened to have some great spares lying around in the form of a Great Unclean One sword arm and shoulder pad to match.  The hand holding the guardsmen is actually from a WFB giant figure.
The interesting part about the hand clutching the guardsmen was that the hand is made to normally clutch a town village.  Rather that shore away every part of the model, I simply went for the parts that were sticking out from the hand.  In particular, I clipped away the right arm, legs and head, swapping them with guardsmen bits and then blending them back in with grey stuff.
The reverse side of the model, particularly the shoulder and back, gave me another chance to attempt to sculpt the back on this figure.  Normally for these sorts of princes I use the empty half of the 2nd torso included in the DP kit.  As such, I have to build the cavity normally present on the back half of the torso to reflect a set of muscular shoulder blades and the lower back of the figure.  My attempts are certainly getting better.  Practice, practice, practice!

For this second figure, I went a more traditional route. The second set of arms come from the minotaur boxed set, and the lower legs are spares from a Maulerfiend.  For the feet, I went with Giant Hooves from the WFB giant kit.  The whip is from a traditional bloodthirster, and I think  overall this figure has a Khornate theme going for it, pretty much all around.

This particular prince stands an inch or so taller than a traditional prince further adding to the contempt it looks down on it's fellow brethren with.
