Greetings fellow wargamers! Today I have two models to showcase. First up, this tyranid harpy. I've build dozens of different types of harpies since the newest version of the Tyranid codex launched many years ago. Building harpies is a constant battle between bits and price. Clearly they're a kit bashers dream, but all those bits add up, hence the price tag that is usually associated with these models.
Harpies are a love it or hate it model. For me, as a Tyranid player, harpies are an AMAZING support piece. Not only do they get IMHO the best weapon option in the codex (a TL Heavy Venom cannon!) they're also flying monstrous creatures so very difficult to hit when swooping (at least at his point in the current state of the game).

Second up is this Tyranid Doom conversion. The Doom is another love it or hate it model. I think that while the Doom has outstanding potential, I never really manage to get it to earn it's points back in a game. I think it just depends on the match up you find yourself in. Gaming potential notwithstanding, the kitbash for this model is not insubstantial, requiring bits from both 2nd and current edition Tyranid Hive Tyrants, as well as a variety of small bits like these corpse cart bodies and hormagaunt scything talons.
These models are rare to build, due to the unavailability of the Hive Tyrant torso. However, we do have a variant of the Doom that has proven quite popular and it's for sale on ebay right now right
