If you're like me, you lose things. I used to lose my keys, until I got a bowl for my keys. I lose my drink all the time. Maybe it's a bad sign when at 32 I can't find my beer or coffee that I SWEAR I just put down right over here . . . . . that being said, bits are a different story altogether. Even if you have a very VERY well organized bits box, chance are you are going to lose a part here and there. My couch has claimed so many bits over the years. I lost a watch in there for a year once. A whole year! And GW sprues keep getting more and more log jammed, so it gets easier to not only 1. Accumulate Bits, but also 2. To lose them.
One thing we occasionally get called on to do is a repair job. For example, maybe you dropped your favorite battle tank . . . .down a hill . . near a marching band. Before you write it off for slag and commit to your next piece of area terrain (you ARE doing that, right, you're not just throwing it away, are you?), consider contacting us for refurbishment services. So what is refurbishment? It's a fancy way to say fix er' up, doc. In the above example, a client has lost the wings and right hand to a Greater Daemon of Khorne. So what did we do? We swapped them out for a newer model. Something readily available and on hand. Did it work? You be the judge.
Before you go rushing off to conclusions about the size and color of the right hand, be aware that we keep a variety of hands in stock at any given time and this was, honestly, the closest hand we could find, size wise, as a comparable. Bloodthirsters have oversized hands for a model of their size. I mean, just look at that mitt! It'd be like if my hand was twice the size of my foot! And once primed, that hand is gonna work just fine. We even threw a giant mace in there, which while not an axe, will allow this daemon to smash his mortal foes to dust.
A few years ago I had to completely
refurbish a Zarakynal model, largely due to my own fault. What can I say? I was young and loved princess Teela. We got a lot of flak for this model, which to me was confusing at first. Here I thought 'we fixed this model, can't they appreciate that?' But our trolls were thinking 'they RUINED a perfectly good model that I CAN'T AFFORD and replaced it with a TOY, what's wrong with them?' Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the line between a toy and a model is getting slimmer by the minute. If you don't occasionally pick up a Necron and make laser sounds, you might want to pick a new hobby.
