I'm sure you noticed the lack of painted models up on the blog lately. This isn't because I stopped painting but rather because I decided to take up a large project. I'm sure I've mentioned that I'm not a huge fan of painting tanks. I've had three Wave Serpents sitting on my painting desk since 2007 when I bought them as part of an Apocalypse bundle. I decided to batch paint all three because I thought it would take less time than painting them individually.
It took forever. I think it probably still took less time than painting them individually, but it was a struggle to keep up my motivation. Seeing three partially painted tanks on my desk made me dread sitting down to paint. I would not suggest trying this approach.
At least they all look good at the end. I present:
The Razor's Kiss
The Harpy's Song
The Blade's Dance
Now I can run my Eldar without being embarrassed by my unpainted tanks. I've still got a ton of Eldar to paint, but I need a break after working on these tanks for so many weeks. I'm not sure what my next project is, but it won't be Eldar.
Wave Serpents
