Happy New Year!!!

...Oh, right. I'm a tad late for that aren't I? Well, combining a young boy's birthday, two holidays, work and a wife who slips on ice to wrench her ankle to hell and back will do that to you.

So how did I do this past year? Did I live up to my hobby goals I set last year? Lets are a look!

Grey Knights

Yup, finished those! Thank God, otherwise I wouldn't have had near as much fun at Adepticon and Feast of Blades as I did!

More Competition Pieces

Hmm...I dropped the ball on this one. Considering all I would have had to do was paint a total to two pieces dedicated to a competition, and I only finished Bugman, I rally dropped the ball. That will change this year.

Avoid the "Oooooh, Shiny!" Syndrome

Looks like I'm only 1 for 3 here, doesn't it? I bought quite a bit of Forge World this year, including 2 units of Tartaros Terminators, upgrade kits, bolter kits, etcetera so on and so forth. What have I painted of all that and more? You guessed it, nada. I'll address that later.

So does all this mean I feel discouraged for this upcoming year? Nah, I just need to learn how to work smarter this year and prioritize.

What did happen this year though, was amazing, fun and fulfilling. I joined Dark Future Games as a writer, where I covered the entire weekend of Feast of Blades! FoB was a huge first for me, as it was the first larger event that I've attended outside of Adepticon. How was it? Lets just say that I can't wait to go back! If you want to know more, head over to DFG and check out all three days of coverage. Speaking of Feast, thanks to Jawa and Chandler, there was a Blogger Roundtable, also coved in my FoB coverage, that was webcast where you favorite authors from BoLS, myself and more were moderated, loosely, and had a blast.

Some other big firsts for me included having the opportunity to sculpt and design bases for Dragon Forge Designs, and even more, I was published in Wargames Illustrated's 300th issue!

So while I may have missed the boat when it came to my goals for the year, I was given some great opportunities, had some amazing firsts in my hobby and life and I wouldn't trade them for the world. All in all, I'd say this was a pretty successful year.

What's coming for 2013?

I'm going to go ahead and keep it easy. Lets wash, rinse and repeat my previous goals, just substituting my Necrons for my Grey Knights and move on from there. I really want to paint some more competition pieces this year and honestly just be more productive, but at less of a hectic, hair pulling pace. I'd also love to get in a second article for WI. I want to dive back into the blogging community even more, and I fell out of forum use for most of last year, and I don't want to sell that style of community short either this year.

So since I'm late to the game this year for goals and resolutions, you all should have set your own by now! Share! What are you aiming for in 2013?
