Hey all,

As I'm sure many of you are aware, TEH SKY IZ FAWLING!

OH NOES!!!1!!!!one!!!!!!exclamation!!!!! TEH GAYM IZ RUE-END!! *butthurt* *rage* *waggling goitre-esque chins* *gnashing of teeth*

With the almost imminent release of Warhammer $40,000 $th edition....I mean 7th edition...yes... well according to the rumour sites anyway <.<

Current leaks show the addition of a psychic phase and unbound armies, cuz apparently facing 1-3 riptides just isn't hardcore enough. Or cinematic enough. Or making the shareholders enough. >.>

In all honesty, this is weird. 6th only came out around this time two years back to much the same wailing and so on. However, 6th has been a very confused edition.

Figured out how to add page breaks so...*slaps on a parachute* Juuuuummmmmpppp!

You landed ok, right? I made sure there were hay piles strategically placed on the battlefield. Good? Cool, let's continue.

6th ed 40k started off with flyers being introduced a few months earlier as a fast skimmer or something. Then 6th came along and they got their own type, aptly named Flyer class. To counter this, were fortifications- meaning the gun in the aegis line actually could do stuff now. During this time we got to see the Space marines, Necrons, Orks, Chaos marines, Dark angels, Tau, Eldar and Tyranids receive flyers of their own. Flakk missiles were also added as a somewhat pricey way to get some mobile AA. The downside to this is knowing GW's attention to detail outside of their miniatures, these missiles haven't done the full rounds just yet and not every army has received their flyer yet.

As of about late 2013, GW decided to start pushing LARGE models with Apocalypse 2: the grimdarkening. Thus the focus of 6th went from flyers to larger battles with large units. The imperial knight is no exception.

Then! We had the whole supplement, dataslate and "codex" releases, which seem to be another $$ grabbing part on GW's behalf. Sorta like paying to play, really. Add in Escalation and Stronghold assault (both designed to sell big kits such as the skull of skull-skulls...erm, wall of martyrs) and the potential amount of rules to learn/buy becomes crazy!

And now, we have a very confused and possibly not playtested 7th edition arriving on our doorsteps, not two years from the latest edition. Where's that facepalm image of Jean Luc Picard? Oh, here it is:

Considering the usual turnover of a game edition is 4-5 years, the utter *profanity!*

So, I'm gonna sit this edition out considering I haven't got any mileage out of the 6th edition book yet. I'm not gonna fork out for another set of codices no matter what fancy new stuff gets added back in. Ugh. All I'm gonna do is hold out for plastic Adepta Sororitas and that'll be it >.>

There's still a metric f***ton of painting and assembling to do so there's that. Yeah this is a rant, but eh points be valid!

Also slightly proud and embarrassed that I linked to this blog via one of my facebook status updates so people I know in reality can like see my thoughts on a somewhat obscure and pricey hobby. O.o
