After the recent Kill Team matches ( Part 1 & Part 2) Flattervieh and me wanted to field our recently finished P500 Aleatoris Armies. Coincidentally this was our first game with the new rule setting of Warhammer 40K but since we did not bring any Psykers or Vehicles to the battlefield it wasn’t such a huge change at all. The deployment we got was “Search and Destroy” and the Mission’s name was “Blood Feud”. The direct forward approach suited both involved Legions pretty well.
“Blood will have Blood, Sorrow piles upon Sorrow, Vengeance breeds Vengeance.”
Ancient Terran Proverb
Kargos or “The Bloodspitter” as he is often refered to of the World Eaters Legion led an Assault Squad on the bombed surface of Isstvan III in the wake of his Masters Angron and Kharn. The Primus Medicae should not be mistaken as a man eager to take care of his brethrens’ needs but instead he was well aware of the form of the psycho-surgery better known as “the Butcher’s Nails”. At the same time Tarron Gal the Legion Centurion of the Sons of Horus was on a similar mission as Kargos, hunting down the last remaining loyalist forces of their own Legions.
As the two vanguard forces got ahold of each other the Sons of Horus tried to establish a communication with the World Eaters. But as the frenzied mob started their jump packs, howling for blood and headed towards Tarron’s units, the Legion Centurion gave his men the order to get their Bolters ready. Well aware of the World Eaters Master’s insubordination after the bombing of Isstvaan III the Legion Centurion Tarron almost expected to get into trouble with them. No matter if both of the forces were actually on the Warmaster’s side.
Personal Review:
Thanks Flattervieh for the great match mate! It was a real pleasure to get my Sons of Horus out on the battlefield. This was of course a very small match without much tactical finesse but it blended in so nice in the background of Isstvan and since we are huge fans of the Horus Heresy even such a small and fast game gave us both tons of inspiration and motivation for the painting sessions to come!
There will definitely be a rematch in one way or another. I desperately need it as the Sons of Horus were wearing Power Armour made from paper and using Plasma Guns maintained by Gretchins that day, hehe.
