NOVA is done and I am tired.  I ended up only staying three days.  Thursday was the Malifaux story encounter.  Fun event with a lot of flavor that had you wanting more.  Friday and Saturday were Infinity.  Sunday was called on account of a family request. Damn family commitments!  :)

Day one of Infinity was 300 point YAMs event.  Game one was my second or third game of YAMs.  It was fun.  I played Hassassins.  First game was against an Araidna player (Ian).  Nice guy but I got lucky with a Fiday strike killing his Antipode controller and LT before his first turn.  5-2 victory.

Game two was against a Morat player.  I can't remember his name but he was a nice guy and a fun opponent who had a few bad drops.  Like the Lasiq hitting his AD trooper out of the sky and the Daylami killing one of his heavies with a rifle shot.  I always worry about any of the CA armies but in tournaments I have had the best luck with them.  Which is the opposite of the times I play Dennis at the store.  5-2 victory.

Game three was against a Nomad sectorial player.  I can't remember his name or sectorial.  I got punched in the face.  I avoided being tabled by refusing to put my Ghulams out there to die.  Fun player and a fun game for getting my face kicked in.  I really enjoyed it.  2-7 Loss.

Game 4 was against a QK player (Todd).  He had a TAG heavy list (Scareface and an Iguana).  I got lucky with some Lasiq shots and he got unlucky with some saves.  The first turn was bloody on both sides.  I ended up winning 5-3 or 4.

Day one was a successful 3-1.  Pretty good but not good enough to place.  My butt kicking and not getting enough points was a big let down.  I need to work on that next year.  It was fun and I really enjoy it.

Day 2 was 400 point Classic ITS.  Missions were Annihilation, Supplies, Quad Control and Antenna Field.

Game one was against my game two opponent.  He played Aleph and boy did he bring it.  Lucky guess and bad placement had me in Loss of LT.  I managed 2 points to his 5.  2-5 loss.

Game two was a  newer player.  He played QK and didn't have an optimized list.  Managed to send him loss of LT.  That is when I found out if you heal your LT and haven't elected a new one your no longer loss of LT.  We had a delay in the game due to some announcements from NOVA staff that was actually one of the things that pissed me off.  You have a slow player and now told to shut up so they can talk about food trucks.  We only got through two turns I ended up winning 5-1.

Game three was against Todd.  He was playing QK again.  A similar list.  It was a fun game.  I did some things that I should have asked about before the start to make sure we were in agreement.  Todd miss scored a round and the game went to a tie in stead of a loss for me.  I asked if he wanted to redo it even though I would have done things differently.  He said he isn't in the running for anything and took the tie.

Game four was against another new player.  He was playing a Nomad sectorial. He had some experience with Haqqislam but not against Lasiqs or Fidays.  I sprinted ahead and held the lead all game.  I won 5-0.

Cert made sure everyone knew that Gutier was there.  Gutier was generally a pleasure to talk to.  He was constantly talking to people.  He was friendly and very passionate.  I was worried when he said he was going to go over the Gen Con presentation as part of the reveal.  Boy am I glad he did.  He explained things from the writer's side and the back story of things like the "evil" Tohaa was very interesting.  It was a welcome change and something I enjoyed.  I did manage to stump him with a rules question that came up from a game.

The TOs were great and fun to talk to.   They ran a fun event and kept things upbeat.  They really deserve the bulk of the credit.  They made it fun.

NOVA was fun all around.  I thought the SWAG was a little lite but the lemon aid raffle was fantastic.

I will say that this was the first NOVA that I didn't finish it with no desire to game.  I started painting up my new models late Sunday evening.  For now, the Haqq are being retired.  Next, Tohaa make their appearance.

Gutier working hard not just making a great game but making a tournament great.
