This huge room has an air of menace. Facing the Warriors is a deep, spiked pit. Beyond the pit the Warriors can see a dimly lit platform upon which stands an imposing throne.

The main room of the Lair of the Orc Lord expansion for WHQ was finished yesterday. I think this room took the most preparation and painting time of all rooms so far. I wasn’t so very sure which bit I could use to represent Gorgut’s throne. Luckily this wonderful post here gave me enough inspiration to just create one on my own from plastic card and green stuff. Hopefully I will be able to come up with something as cool as the linked fireplace after some more practice.
Now that I’ve done lots of stuff for the first expansion there is an end in sight. The funny (or better said amazing) thing about the whole project log is that there is actually no real end in sight at all. Even after finishing Catacombs of Terror and the other little expansions like the ones published in White Dwarf there are still hundreds of great ideas around which need to be done here. Just have a look at the cool monster ideas here or other fanmade whole new settings like the Dark Elves expansion of little monk on facebook.

You see, even if I am getting things done there hopefully is still a lot to come!

Detailshot 3: The presence of both the Skaven and Dwarf head are not hard to explain...but I am dead sure Gorgut is proud to show of the trophy of a Saurus Warrior. Quite a rare sight under the mountain Gunbad.
