For the Emperor
So I've been tossing around looking for a solid plan for 6th Edition. I've always love all of the more unique Marine Chapters, like the Dark Angels, Wolves, etc and those were always on the top of my hobby list.
With the latest price hikes, constantly changing rules and power levels, I've always considered it wise for a 40k player to own a Codex Space Marines army. So the decision has been made. I'll be building an Imperial Fists army!
I've purchased some Forgeworld bits for my Rhinos and Land Raiders, Finecast shoulders for my Tactical Marines, Fist icons for my other random vehicles (Stormtalon, etc). I'm all in.
Why Imperial Fists?
The decision was based almost entirely on the hobby. Painting golden/yellow Marines will be a challenging but rewarding task and I'm incredibly excited about it.
I've ordered a few Vallejo (pronounced Vajeho or Vayeho) paints and primers for my Badger airbrush, started mixing my own washes and inks with some Liquitex Inks and just overall getting ready to be neck deep in Imperial Fists.
The fluff of the Imperial Fists is not bad, either. While not as developed as some others, I enjoy their love of siege warfare. I think it makes for some interesting army lists (dual or try-vindicators) and a very visually striking force.
Hopefully you all join me for the journey, thanks for reading!
