Calm Down Folks
Watching people react to certain rules is entertaining. Watching the wailing and gnashing of teeth as vehicles took a slight hit in Warhammer 40,000 has been downright comical.

Heldrakes, Whirlwinds, flamers in general are everywhere. They all ignore cover. None of them ignore AV. With all the guns in the game, I have no clue how anyone is leaving their armor home. Here are a couple reasons why I love me some tanks.

NOTE: This here is a counter-argument to the generally accepted idea that Vehicles aren't worth taking. I understand the points and some of them are valid. I just don't think there's only one way to play, especially the fluff-fest that is 6th. This is a little light-hearted, so don't take it too seriously. Enjoy and thanks for reading :)

Safer
It's just safer inside the box than outside. That's pretty straightforward, especially if you're a Marine. Even softer armies will be safer in their boxes now that the Vehicle Damage Chart is more likely to wreck you than blow you up. That means that my enemy just did me a favor. I was able to disembark on HIS turn. Now, I can charge them on mine. Thanks!

Faster
I have to get to Objectives in 6th Edition. Guess what's faster than my feet? Tanks. In most cases you're started at least 10" up, usually more. On turn 1 go all out. That will put you at the 28" mark. I'm already more than halfway across the board. Much easier getting where I want to get at that point.

If they pop me then, it's ok, I disembark behind the vehicle if there's any danger of an assault or anywhere else otherwise. Yes, there may be more guns at that point, but those guns would be shooting you way back in  your deployment zone if not for that 35 points you wisely spent!

Meta
Tank popping is getting rare. Sure, you'll get glanced to death eventually, maybe even quickly but you're giving yourself a chance to screw the meta. I played one game last week where my opponent had no reliable way of popping tanks at range. My two Razorbacks and Land Raider ruined his day (yes, he had a couple of meltaguns and lots of bolters but they'll struggle at range. I kept driving away.

Cost
So 35 points for a Rhino isn't worth it? You're giving up 2 Marines for 3HP and a TON of speed. I'm not sure where the issue is there. Rhinos are 35 points. 35. Maybe a little more than a power fist. That's cheap. Certain books can make a killing on Rhinos, too. Dark Angels can get a heavy or special weapon at 5 guys! That's beautiful.

Razorbacks aren't too bad, either guys. A mobile gun platform that will get you a couple rounds of shooting, barring some bad luck.

Land Raiders...uh, take 2? Stormravens (not really a tank, but you get the idea)? Take 2? Anything worth taking is worth taking in pairs! (Two Dark Angels Librarians? Yes, please^.^)

Conclusion
There you have it, my brilliantly laid out reasons for taking vehicles in 6th edition. Dark Angels MSU might actually work, too. Those Tactical Squads are cheap! Anyways, enjoy the game guys, 6th has refreshed my enjoyment of 40k. Whether you play in tournaments or play for kicks, let the armor roll!
