The Co-prosperity sphere has only been aware of the Cult Of Zarn for the past few years but has in fact been fighting them for over three decades. Numerous missing ships, assassinations and worlds from one side of the galaxy to the next have gone silent and only now is the Corporation realizing who is to blame.
A Herald Of Zarn strikes at the leader of the enemy force while his attention is focused on the front lines.

The Cult has access to several strange technologies and creatures that have not been seen before in any previous Veer-myn force including the deadly verminium lightning generators, grotesque blood worms and the dreaded Heralds Of Zarn. All these things and many more have been made possible by the Cult's undisputed leader, Zarn and his obvious genius in the field of twisted science. How this one Veer-myn has managed to rule over such a vast empire of his naturally treacherous kin is due, in part, to his Heralds. A sect of assassins who obey their commander without question spreading his message to other Veer-myn communities and protecting him from harm. Not only do Zarn's Heralds boast agility and stealth enough to match anything previously seen by the Corporation but their dedication to the cause is so complete that every Herald carries within their body an explosive device, so that even in death they can slaughter Zarn's enemies.

It may look strange but the verminium lightning generator can rip open corporation battle tanks with a single discharge.

The most concerning aspect of the Cult Of Zarn is their use of interstellar craft. Most Veer-myn civilizations are stuck on the planet of their origin and can only spread in small numbers by hitching a lift on an unsuspecting craft. But the Cult have now been encountered using what the Corporation have dubbed as "Parasite ships". These small ramshackle ships are powered by verminium lightning generators that propel them (at great speed) towards the enemy ships where they latch onto the hull and send hordes of Veer-myn into the vessel with the ultimate aim of slaughtering the crew and taking it for themselves.
A team of Marines are ambushed and quickly overwhelmed by a ravenous horde of Blood Worms.

Although The Cult Of Zarn has been encountered in many sectors they currently seem to be concentrated in the Phi-Rho system, home to the Nihilo, a peaceful race who have turned the field of genetic engineering into an art form. Phi-Rho has been under the protection of the Forge Fathers for many years now in an attempt to keep their powerful sciences out of Corporation hands but it seems Zarn desires the Nihilo's genetic know how for himself. Only time will tell if this will tip the balance of power in the system and if so who will come out on top.

Regular followers of the blog will have seen my Vee-myn force in the past and will also be aware that I have been trying to build the force to a substantial size in preparation for a local event where Shades Of Chaos will be running demos for the majority of Mantic's games. However, real life has chosen to throw a spanner in the works for my veer-myn as I am currently in the process of buying a house which has put a hold on the spending of any money on my "silly little men" as the wife likes to call them.

So just short of 3000 points it looks as though my Veer-myn will be remaining as they are. I will still be getting involved in the Warpath Kickstarter next year as I have some money put by so hopefully there will be plenty of opportunity to add some more furry bodies to The Cult Of Zarn then.

See ya.

Coming soon...
