Well it had to happen sooner or later. Here is my first beer review! I wanted to start with a simple one that you can find readily available in most good beer shop and supermarkets.

So first up is:

Brewdog's Dead Pony Club

Here are the stats:
Country: Scotland
Style: American Pale Ale
ABV: 3.8%

As soon as you open it you get a good aroma of hops hitting your nose. It pours a beautiful golden amber with a hint of red to it. Whilst a nice consistent white head forms. Overall nice looking beer but quite an average looking beer. But back to the aromas. I personally get a strong hit of citrus fruit flavours. Which remind me of quite a few hop forward beers like Oakham Citra or Stone IPA. If you like hoppy ales then this beer is perfect for you.

The best part of this beer for me is the fact that it is only 3.8%. This easily tastes like a 5% pale/ipa to me. There is a lot of citrusy hop flavouring to this beer, along with tropical flavours like grapefruit and maybe even peach? These big bold flavours are then backed up by a nice solid malt taste, which really helps to balance out the brew.

As I sit here drinking this beer I can't help but think I want another one! Which is a good sign. I highly recommend it to new beer drinkers and season craft beer drinkers alike. This is a beer that goes great with the sunshine and even better with a bbq. For me I would drink this with Curry or some spicy food to let the hops counter act the spice.

Well that's it let me know if you've had it before and what you think of it. And on the off chance you go out and buy one to try let me know how it goes.
