Korghos Khul

Here is my version of Korghos Khul
I was able to pick him up from a store paint and take at my LGS.  (you could choose any mini from the starter except the Lord Celestant and the Khorgoroth.)  I chose a pretty standard color scheme for this guy as he's going on display at the LGS now that he's done.

 This model is not what I would call a "beginner" model for assembly or for painting ;) but man it looks rather amazing!  I modeled the flesh hound to be straining over the cliff for a dynamic look.

 I had some fun with the flesh tones on the hound himself, working up from a red with bloodletter glaze to a bugman's glow.  The teeth worked out well with an unhealthy yellow gum base.

 I had some real fun highlighting up the colors and worked a bit on my techniques for blending.

The cloak especiallly I really enjoyed working on the colors giving a stark contrast between the shadows and the light.

 I also couldn't resist giving him a red axehead ;)   It's just so khorne ;)

I opted to add fleshtone as a bit of a spot color highlighting the head and chest area, surrounded by a crown of teeth ;)
