I've always liked the paint scheme of the Howling Griffons, especially on the older Space Marine models. There is something about those old sculpts that really make them work well with bright colors. A few months ago while trolling eBay, I came an old second edition tactical squad complete with the Sargent, special, and heavy weapon marines. I already had a set of tactical shoulder pads in my bits box that would be perfect for them. One bid and a few days later they were all mine.
After painting one squad of these guys, I can safely say that a whole army of them is out of the question! The marines are pretty straight forward to paint but the vehicles require more patience than I usually have. Here are a few close ups of the squad and their rhino.
