I have a lot of unpainted miniatures.
I've decided I need to set some goals. I'm going to start out small and I'm going to give myself a generous amount of time to accomplish them. My hope is the achievement of these small goals will act as inspiration and the sense of accomplishment will drive me onwards to the point where I can set more ambitious goals later.
But first, an admission. I want to buy more models....and some terrain. I want to do this even though I have 4 sealed boxes.... A Chaos Rhino (I think I bought it for The Purge warband), a box of deamonettes, a box of space marine scouts with sniper rifles, and a Primaris Impulsor.
Could I set a goal of building all of these kits? Sure, but then they would just join the heaping pile of miniatures waiting to be painted. So for now they will rest safe in their cellophane stasis fields.
I have a ton (over 50) gaunts that need to be painted. Should that be my goal? I think that would only lead to despair at this point.
I need a goal that I can reasonably complete in a month. Maybe more than one goal. In fact, if I could set four smaller goals for next month, then I could try and space them out and maybe try to get one a week. If I only manage to achieve one of them, hey that is still an achievement.
That's what I'll do. Four goals for February:
1. Paint and Base a Primaris Librarian or Librarian in Phobos Armor for the Falcons of Ruin.
2. Paint and Base a Drukhari Warrior squad.
3. Make and post Painting Trackers for the Falcons of Ruin and Drukhari
4. Paint and Base a squad of Chaos Space Marines for the Warriors of Mayhem.
There we go. Four goals that I should be able to complete in February.
Before I go, I think I need to list the 40K armies / factions I currently am collecting.
The Dagobian Regiment (Catachans) of the Astra Militarum
The Falcons of Ruin - Primaris Space Marines
Drukhari - Flayed Skull - Cursed Blade - The Prophets of Flesh
The Warriors of Mayhem Chaos Space Marines
The Purge Warband of Chaos Space Marines
Hive Fleet Hydra of the Tyranids
Chaos Deamons - Slaanesh
Krom Dragongaze's Great Company of the Space Wolves
Feel free to tell me what you think and if you've set any hobby goals.
