This week, I have been working on my bikers for my various armies. I decided that I would re-base my Ravenwing for the upcoming Fluffageddon tournament.

The reason for this is that my Interrogator-Chaplain was based in the same fashion as my White Scars as he is a part-timer who works for both armies. Rather than rebase him to match the Ravenwing once more, I decided I would do up the bases on my Ravenwing bikers, as they were a bit plain and could use some work.

First I removed all the bikers from their bases and then scraped off the flock that was there.

I then painted them in two coats of Steel Legion Drab. Once dry, I covered the bases in brown flock.

I then added static grass in patches to the bases. I ran out of my old static grass about a third of the way through, so made a trip to the local GW to replace it (man, I love living in the city centre again!). Unfortunately, the new static grass is lighter than the one I had been previously using, but it seems to blend pretty well with what I had.

So that is where the bases are now. I need to glue on the Bikers and add some of the patches of adhesive static grass that I have, as per the Landspeeders below.

I also was able to make some more progress with my Deathwatch marines, building the bikers for the army. I decided to arm them all with Power Weapons for the game, as they are a bargain at only 5 pts each. This should hopefully give them a bit more of a punch in combat. I also decided to keep the riders separate from the Bike for painting and the Bikes separate from the base. This is the first time I have done this as I hope to pay a bit more attention to the painting of this small, elite army.

So that is this weeks hobby progress. I plan to finish off the Ravenwing bikers (probably even today, I do have an extra hour to use!) and get the rest of my Deathwatch assembled.

What about everyone else in hobby land? What have you been working on this week? Anyone else out there starting a Deathwatch army and have some painting tips?
