This poor, forlorn, neglected little blog certainly doesn’t show it… but these recent days, weeks, months have been a time of pure, unfiltered hobby glory for yours truly. The whole hobby universe, it seems, currently rests at my doorstep (often in UPS packaging that inspires scowling from the wife). I am certainly not the first to say it, but this is a golden age for our fine hobby.

And I’m knee deep in it.

New Editions. New Ranges. Whole New Game Systems (currently looking at my 3rd). I’ve had a hand in all of that these past few months. And again, the blog certainly has not demonstrated this only because I have been too busy getting my glory on to stop and type about it.

That, and because there are two things in the pipeline that weren’t quite ready for proper public discussion.

One of them will be announced next week.

In the mean time, feast your eyes on a little of what’s been on my plate. Because Roberto Vo5 is an absolute legend, because it was recently his birthday, and because the good man subscribes to the Hobbiton tradition of giving on one’s birthday… generously… well. You know what this is.

To be candid, I have wanted to build one of these for a very, very long time. Then I read Titanicus, and that desire turned to something much more primal, more visceral, more potent.

Thank you, Roberto Vo5!!1!! Glorious.

This one is going to take a while. It is, clearly, a mammoth undertaking (dare I say, titanic? No. apologies). In fact, I would not expect to see it on the table top until mid 2013. I am going to enjoy this. Slowly.
