Jaime and I decided to hit some Steamroller 2012 practice and drew up Gauntlet, played at 50 points. I took Grissel 2:

Grissel 2
Mauler
Axer

Janissa
Fell Caller Hero
Champion Hero
Full Champions + Skaldi
Full Fennblades + UA
War Wagon

While Jaime took:

Sorscha 2
Beast '09
Juggernaut

4 Mechaniks
Greylord Ternion
Koldun Lord
Kovnik Josef
Full Demo Corp
Manhunter
Widowmakers
Marksman
Full WG + UA + WA

Deployment
Pretty straightforward. We lined up and prepared to rush forward. Grissel won the roll to go first and took it. I planned to Dash and rush forward as soon as possible. Grissel is interesting because she really only has three spells and one of them is never going to be used. Her two useful spells appear underwhelming but in action they're a wonder to behold.

Trollbloods Turn 1
Not much to say here, I Dashed with Grissel and rushed forward. I pushed the Wagon forward about 10 inches to set up some shots for turn two. I was afraid of the Winter Guard, that unit is gigantic, certainly big enough to put a serious dent into the Champions or the Wagon.

Dash is nutty. Fennblades get to SPD7 and are immune to Free Strikes. I knew I was going to eat a round of shooting but hoped to be able to close the distance by the next turn.

Khador Turn 1
Sorscha puts Iron Flesh on the Winter Guard, Kovnik makes them Tough and everything rushes forward, while the Winter Guard Bob and Weave. Not sure what Jaime was thinking so I can't offer much insight here.

He was able to take two Fennblades down with the shots from his Widowmakers, but....

Trollbloods Turn 2
Widowmakers triggered Vengeance. My Fennblades move 3" and prepare to charge Widowmakers in return! I put Dash up again (it's not upkeep able) and rushed forward again. With the extra SPD, Fennblades are charging 10" and have reach, for a 12" threat range! Couple of Widowmakers die.

My Wagon moves forward and puts a blast onto the Juggernaut, knocking it down, killing a Mechanik or two and knocking the survivors down, as well. The Champions rush forward to try and get into melee with as many Winterguard as possible, taking them out of the fight (hopefully). Beasts are basically running up, Janissa is putting walls down as needed and the Fell Caller Hero is picking up his fallen fellows with the occasional song.

Khador Turn 2
Sorscha upkeeps Iron Flesh, Joe tells a speech, etc. Khador is in a bind, I've gummed up the middle pretty good, though he's got lots of stuff in the zone, so I can't score.

Khador has started to kill Fennblades and put some pain into the Champions. Luckily for me, he's getting diced pretty badly. He misses some easy to hit Fenns and remains stuck in combat with his two meaty jacks. Things are starting to look grim for Sorscha.

Trollbloods Turn 3
I score my first point here by basically setting up a charge with a Raged Mauler. During my Maintenance phase I took my Vengeance move and killed another couple of Khador infantry on the right side first. The Mauler then puts down the Juggernaut.

Grissel puts Dash up, allowing me to get a Fenn into contact with Sorscha, though he fails to do any damage despite her being sitting on her ass from a Wagon shot that killed a Man o War and put a bit of damage on everything else. Janissa and the Caller rinse and repeat their wall and song, respectively. While on the left, Champions try and kill defense 15 or so Winterguard. I probably should have sent the Fell Caller over there? In any event, with the Juggernaut dead, I score.

Khador Turn 3
Desperation time for Khador. He tries to clear up Beast '09 who's been dealing with swarming Fennblades all battle. While he succeeds, he is still outside the control zone.

On the right, Fennblades and Widowmakers keep duking it out.

Sorscha upkeeps Flesh, Kovnik Toughens up the Winterguard and they go another round with the Champions, doing still more damage but failing to kill any. In a desperate attempt, he rushes Josef into melee with the Wagon, hoping to stave off defeat.

Trollbloods Turn 4
At this point, we know Khador has its back against the proverbial wall. Sorscha is only able to contest with Kovnik Josef. So, just to be silly, Grissel orders the War Wagon to hoof Kovnik Josef in the mouth instead of wasting any more of her men. Success! Josef goes down and Grissel and her Trollbloods capture the ever so important 6"x 8" piece that the Trollbloods so desperately needed!

Victory for the United Kriels! :)
