Road to the Bay Area Open: Video Batrep Orks vs. BA practice

Feb 3, 2012

So I hope to get some practice games in before the Bay Area Open with my Ork army!

I am going with a not so typical list when it comes to the Orks. As well I wanted show people what they can expect at the Bay Area Open with the mission system and typical terrain layout.

As a reminder the Bay Area Open will have a host of new events if you not the competitive type. If you are the competitive type the Bay Area Open has been added to the list of events that qualify you for spot on the ETC American Team.

So without further adieu here are some video battle reports. I apologist in advance for the length, but please stay for the end…

Would you ban me for nicknaming you PasteyChaste?

Also I seem to be noticing the blackballing of nova open for the etc, even though its winner has proven to be the best, maybe this malarky about it being too close to the etc needs to be tossed and just institute a year delay thing.

What are you talking about? The guy that won Nova is on the ETC team. What does it have to do with the Bay Area Open?

That was because he won adepticon too.

The point being it seems the powers that be will continue to shun the nova open without even trying to include them in the etc, despite it producing at least the best player in a long time. In contrast with the bay area open, which I have not heard anything regarding competitive levels.

I’m pretty sure Ghaz had a 2+ for the whole turn, not just the ork turn. Though it seems like the dice decided anyway!

oh, also, I’m pretty sure the assault ramp is on the front of the land raider, so how did they get out? I could be wrong, i’m an ork player

Land Raiders have one front door and two side doors (which can be either in front of or behind the guns, depending on how you build it; GW goes both ways with theirs, so there isn’t a “right” answer.)

      • What you say is 100% correct, yet I feel the doors have to be behind the guns. I mean, even a Space Marine doesn’t want to exit the vehicle as it is firing and I don’t think a tank as important as a Land Raider will stop firing just for the passengers to get out.

  5. I really enjoyed this one guys – it’s more fun watching people enjoying a game than trying to impart some grand wisdom on the masses!
